What's New at VirtualNet?

VirtualNet Domain Name Forged in "Spam" (10/12/97)

VirtualNet has never been involved in any fashion in the "spamming" of Usenet, or the sending of Unsolicited Commercial Email. Unfortunately, the name "virtual.net" is inherently attractive to spammers, and we have been informed of several incidents where persons have received UCE or Usenet postings with virtual.net in the headers or message-id. We appreciate hearing about such incidents, and make a point of pursuing the matter via InterNIC lookups and direct contact with any listed parties in the NIC records.

A Refutation of Cyberspace Independence (02/11/96)
I hate the Communications Decency Act (sometimes called the Telecomm Reform Act) as much as anyone else, but just couldn't let Barlow's "Declaration" pass. The man has done much good for cyberspace, but everyone misses the mark now and then...

Dr. Obnoxious: What's It To Ya? (9/10/95)
How should I explain Dr. Obnoxious? Perhaps it's better not to try. While not necessarily encompassing adult themes of sex and violence, the Dr. Obnoxious pages are, well, let's just say if no one is offended we're surprised. "Don't worry, they're shouting because they love it!"
